The father of her is Argentine and Scottish English descent. Her mother is Spanish-English. Taylor-Joy is one of the five children. Four are from Taylor's father's prior marriage. Family lived in Buenos Aires up until Taylor-Joy reached the age of six, later moving to Victoria district in London. Taylor Joy said the move from Buenos aires to Victoria was difficult and she didn't study English and was hoping to go home to Argentina. Hill House had to be her new school after she switched from Northlands. In the following year, she joined Queen's Gate School to study dance and perform in the school's productions. When she dropped out of school at the age of 16 she pursued an acting profession. Taylor-Joy's desire to become a professional actress started at a young age.
