Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams (born on the 20th of August, 1974 in Aviano, Italy). American actress. She is known for her role as naive adorable characters. Adams is born in Italy as her father worked as a soldier in the U.S. military and she grew up living in Castle Rock Colorado as one of seven children. In the late 1990s, she started performing professionally and dancing with Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. Then in Minnesota in a small local theatre she was chosen to be a part of the mock documentary about beauty contests called Drop Dead Gorgeous. The film's debut on screen was a bright-eyed but sweet contestant. Following that she moved her home to Los Angeles in order to pursue a career acting. Between June 1951 and September 1962, she got married with actor Tony Curtis. She is also the mother of Kelly Curtis & Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's film career began in mid- 1940s, after she was hired by MGM. The actress was discovered by Norma Shearer. Through the years that followed she was in a variety of well-known films like Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) as well as Living It Up by Martin and Lewis (a 1954 film).
