Barone played in the fourth season Seinfeld Episode The Shoes as Gail Cunningham a chef who wanted Elaine Benes shoes. The early 1990s saw her was a regular cast member in the show Carol & Company with actress Carol Burnett. Barone played her ex-wife, Carol Willick Ross Geller on the show's first Friends appearance. She left the show as she wanted to pursue an additional full-time job. She was taken over by Jane Sibbett. Barone was the lead in The Jeff Foxworthy Show's first season between 1995 and 1996 as well as The War at Home, between 2005 and 2007. Barone costarred in Daddio (2000). Three years later, since The War at Home ended its run Barone was cast in a regular role for the Disney Channel sitcom Shake It Up as officer Georgia Jones the mother of Bella Thorne's character CeCe Jones. Matthew Glave, Barone's actor husband, guest-starred in the show for two seasons. Shake It Up in the role as J.J. Jones.
